Support for your whole self, through every stage of breast cancer care.
Naturopathic care for prevention, active treatment, and life after treatment. Dr. Haley Panka works alongside your oncology team, never in place of it.
Your treatment decisions are yours. We're here to support the person living them.
A breast cancer diagnosis comes with a flood of appointments, decisions, and well-meaning advice. Your oncology team is focused on treating the cancer. Our focus is on you: how you're eating, sleeping, recovering, and feeling along the way. You don't have to choose between conventional medicine and naturopathic care. Most people we see are doing both. Our job is to help your body and mind stay as strong as possible through treatment, so you can come out the other side feeling vital rather than depleted.
Support For You at Every Stage
Reducing Your Risk
For women with a family history, a genetic finding like BRCA, dense breast tissue, atypical lobular or ductal hyperplasia, or simply a desire to be proactive. We look at hormone and metabolic health, everyday environmental exposures, and the diet and lifestyle habits that shape long-term breast health.
During Treatment
For those going through surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy, or hormone therapy. We focus on easing side effects, keeping you nourished and strong, and making sure everything you take is compatible with your treatment.
Life After Treatment
For survivors finishing active treatment or continuing long-term hormone therapy. We help you rebuild energy, manage lingering effects, and create a sustainable plan for the years ahead. A comprehensive plan that helps you feel in charge of your health again.
How We Work
Your choices, respected. Decisions about surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, and other treatments belong to you and your oncologist. We won't pressure you toward or away from any path. Our role is to support the path you choose, with honest information and evidenced-based integrative care.
We work alongside your oncology team. We prefer to work with patients who are under the care of an oncologist. With your permission, we can share our notes and recommendations with your care team. Every supplement and herb we suggest is reviewed for compatibility with your treatment and timed around it.
A metabolic, whole-person lens. Rather than looking at one symptom at a time, we take a comprehensive approach to your health. We evaluate your blood sugar and metabolic health, inflammation, digestion and the gut microbiome, immune function, hormone balance, environmental toxin burden, sleep, stress management, and emotional wellbeing. These are the areas of your health that can make a real difference in how you feel, affect your response to treatment, and improve your overall quality of life.
Clear about our role. We do not treat cancer, and we never ask anyone to replace conventional care. Naturopathic care here is complementary by supporting your body, your quality of life, and your recovery while your oncology team treats the disease.
What care with us includes
Every plan is built around you, your treatment, and what you can realistically take on right now. Common areas we work on together:
Nutrition guidance and therapeutic diets. Practical eating plans that support strength, steady energy, and digestion, built around your treatment plan.
Side effect support. Strategies for fatigue, nausea, appetite changes, digestive upset, neuropathy, hot flashes, sleep trouble, and "chemo brain."
A careful supplement review. Many people arrive with a bag of supplements from friends and the internet. We help you sort out what's appropriate, what to pause during treatment, and what to skip.
Physical examination. Depending on what your health concerns are, we will do appropriate physical examination, such as blood pressure monitoring and so forth.
Deeper lab testing. When appropriate, we look at markers of metabolic health, nutrient status, inflammation, environmental toxins, genetics, and hormone metabolism to guide your plan. Our approach to every patient is personalized, so lab recommendations will depend on your health goals, stage of treatment, and symptom burden.
A comprehensive treatment plan. We will provide you with a personalized health plan, including recommendations for dietary supplements, herbal medicines, therapeutic diets, and lifestyle recommendations. We’ll include simple, realistic changes to personal care products, cleaning supplies, food, and water, support for rest, resilience, and staying active in ways your body can handle, and include space for you to talk about the fear, fatigue, and uncertainty that come with this. We also have helpful handouts offering additional support on specific topics. If you are interested in pursuing intravenous vitamin therapy or hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), we do not provide this in our office ourselves, but can provide you with a referral to get these services completed alongside our care together.
The goal is simple: help you feel as well as possible during treatment, and stronger on the other side of it.
Meet Dr. Haley Panka, ND
Dr. Haley Panka is a licensed naturopathic doctor and co-founder of Panka Natural Health, which she started with her husband, Dr. Jacob Panka, in 2018. Her interest in naturopathic care started when she was working as a Patient Care Nursing Assistant (PCNA) at the Cleveland Clinic’s bone marrow transplant unit in 2013. She helped patients with leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma, and wanted to learn how else can our healthcare system support people who have cancer. She has a passion for naturopathic and integrative cancer care, and has focused her private practice on supporting those with breast cancer.
She is a member of the Oncology Association of Naturopathic Physicians (OncANP), the professional association for naturopathic doctors who focus on supporting people with cancer. Her additional training in naturopathic oncology includes several mentorships with members of the Fellow of the American Board of Naturopathic Oncology (FABNO) in Oregon and Washington, coursework in Advanced Clinical Naturopathic Oncology with Dr. Neil McKinney, ND, FABNO in Portland, OR, and attendance to Annual OncANP Conferences in Tempe, AZ.
Dr. Haley believes nutrition and lifestyle are central to how people feel and recover through surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation. Her focus is helping patients build the resilience to come through treatment stronger, and supporting their long-term health in the years that follow. She sees patients in person in Hopkins and by telehealth across Minnesota and Wisconsin.

No. Your oncology team treats the cancer. Our role is to support your overall health, help manage side effects, and strengthen your diet, lifestyle, and quality of life. Many of the foods and nutrients we recommend have also been studied for their effects on cancer biology.
