How we approach this at Panka Natural Health

Your first adult visit runs two full hours. We go through your history, how your symptoms connect, what you eat, how you sleep, your stress, and everything you take. Then we read your labs, including any you send ahead, through a functional lens and decide together whether new testing is worth it. You leave with a written plan built on nutrition and lifestyle, with supplements or botanicals where they fit. Dr. Haley focuses on women's health and hormones, pediatrics, holistic diabetes care, and healthy aging. Dr. Jacob focuses on fatigue, focus, and stress, heart and metabolic health, gut–brain concerns, and men's health. Follow-ups run 60 minutes, and Charm portal messaging is included between visits.

Functional, integrative, naturopathic, holistic: what the words mean here

People use these words almost interchangeably, and clinics often use whichever one patients search for. In short, functional and naturopathic medicine both ask why a symptom is happening, integrative means planned use of conventional and natural care together, and holistic means caring for the whole person. Naturopathic doctors who are licensed or registered by a state complete a four-year doctoral program at an accredited naturopathic medical school and pass board exams. So the training matters more than the label. Both of ours trained at the National University of Natural Medicine, and we're registered in Minnesota and licensed in Wisconsin. Integrative is also how we work with your other clinicians. Whatever word brought you here, the care is the same: two full hours at an adult first visit, testing chosen for you, and a written plan you understand.

Functional medicine from Minneapolis: getting here, or seeing us by video

Hopkins is a few miles west of Minneapolis, just past St. Louis Park. Common routes are I-394, Highway 7, and Excelsior Boulevard. Depending on your neighborhood and traffic, the drive is about 15 to 30 minutes. The office is at 901 1st Street North, Suite 901A, with ample parking in front of and behind the building. If you bike, we're on the Lake Minnetonka LRT Regional Trail. The entrance is up four steps with handrails plus a small step, and the office is not wheelchair accessible. If stairs are a barrier, a virtual visit is the alternative, with the same two doctors. You choose in-person or virtual each time you book.

Working alongside the care you already have

We don't replace your primary care clinician. Keep your Minneapolis doctors and specialists; we'll coordinate with them and share what we find. Minnesota naturopathic doctors don't prescribe prescription-only drugs (the law calls them legend drugs), so we don't prescribe hormone therapy, statins, thyroid hormone, or GLP-1 medications. When those questions come up, we bring them to the clinician who prescribes for you. We check every supplement or botanical we suggest for interactions with what you already take. We won't ask you to stop or change a prescription without involving the clinician who prescribed it.

This visit may fit if…

  • You live or work in Minneapolis and want two full hours at an adult first visit, with a doctor who hears your whole history.

  • Your labs have been called normal, but your energy, digestion, sleep, mood, or hormones say otherwise.

  • You want natural therapies chosen by a doctor and checked against your medications.

  • You'd like one practice for the whole family, from infants to grandparents.

See someone else first if…

  • Chest pain, trouble breathing, sudden weakness or confusion, or a severe allergic reaction: call 911.

  • Thoughts of harming yourself: call or text 988.

  • Unexplained weight loss, blood in your stool, or a fever that won't break: see your primary care clinician or urgent care first. We aren't set up for urgent care.

Bring a clearer picture to your visit

  • Recent labs and imaging reports, including from other Minneapolis-area clinics.

  • Your supplements and medications, or photos of the bottles.

  • A short timeline of your main concerns.

  • For a virtual visit, a private spot in Minnesota or Wisconsin.
